Disk copying is the process of making a duplicate copy of a disk or partition. The original disk or partition is copied to a new disk or partition. Disk copy service can be used to restore an existing disk or to create a new disk with the exact same configuration as the original.

There are a few reasons you might want to copy a disk: you may need to restore an existing disk to its original state, you may want to create a new disk with the same configuration as an existing disk, or you may want to backup your data.

Types of Disk Copying

There are a few different types of disk copying that you can do with your computer. The most common types of disk copying are clone and backup. Clone is the simplest type of disk copying.

It creates a copy of the original disk drive or partition, onto another disk drive or partition. This is useful if you need to have a backup of your data but don't want to use up any extra space on your original disk drive.

Backup is a more complex type of disk copying. It creates a copy of all the files and directories on the original disk drive or partition, so that you can restore your data if something happens to it. This is useful if you want to avoid having to rebuild your entire system from scratch – you can just restore your backup.
