A Denver couple realized the effectiveness of the U.S. Attorney's war on drugs and drug-related offenses recently when convicted on federal charges. Because of this, the man was sentenced to 17 years in federal prison, while the girl received nine decades.

Furthermore, prosecutors alleged that both were trying to launder drug profits. The Denver couple was allegedly part of a drug dealing consortium working from Colorado that was sent to cities throughout the country, such as Denver and other cities. 

Police records show that roughly two decades back, police seized over $120,000 in drug profits from the girl in the US airport.  

The man, they say, distributed drugs to Denver-area traders after getting shipments and then sent back the money to leaders of their group in Colorado. 

From all aspects, it would resemble that the couple was charged, arrested, and subsequently convicted.  But not everyone who faces a drug charge is involved in a nationwide drug dealing cartel.
