If you own a water storage tank, it is important to protect it from the weather and debris. A water storage tank cover can help keep the tank clean and protected from the elements. Covered tanks not only keep your valuable water from being wasted during storms, but they also help to protect your home from potential damage.

Here are four tips for installing a water storage tank cover:

1. Clean the Tank Before Covering It: Before you cover your tank, make sure that it is clean. Remove any deposits or dirt that may be on the surface of the tank. This will help prevent water leakage and also keep your coverings from sticking to the surface of the tank.

2. Measure Your Tank's Outside Dimensions: Next, measure your tank's outside dimensions. Use this information to find a cover that fits properly. You may need to order a custom-made cover if your tank is not in stock at your local store.

3. Mark Construction Lines on Your Tank's Surface: Now, mark the construction lines where you plan to attach your coverings. The lines should be at least 24 inches apart so that they will have enough space to move around during installation. Be sure to allow enough room for ventilation and accessibility to the valve assembly on top of the tank.

4. Attach Coverings Along Construction Lines: Once you have marked your construction lines, attach the coverings along these lines using screws or nails (depending on what type of covering you are using). Make sure that all openings in the covering are sealed with adhesive or weatherproof sealant before installation finishes.
