The Sarasota County Tax Collector's Office conducts an annual sale of surplus county property on the first Tuesday of February and Friday of August. Property is sold through sealed bids in accordance with Florida Statutes Section 190.072(1).

The starting price is calculated by multiplying $0.10 per square foot by the total area of the lot or parcel being offered.

Property must be removed within 30 days after the sale unless a longer removal period has been agreed to in advance by both the county tax collector and the purchaser. 

The county tax collector may not sell property for profit, lease it for less than its fair market value, or use it for any purpose other than disposal of surplus county property. All sales are final and no refunds or credits will be made.
